Frightened by the steady rise,competition and growth of ingenious cable network operators in Nigeria, amongst its users ,Multi-Choice Africa(owners of DSTV) has illegally launched an attack on home based cable companies in Port Harcourt in a bid to repress their businesses.
In a recent finding by a team of investigative reporters from NO LIMIT MEDIA (A Port Harcourt based Media firm), it was understood that Multi-Choice Nigeria claims to be the only cable company outlet with full MONOPOLY to broadcast football matches all over Nigeria.
On October 6th 2019, the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in conjunction with DSTV Nigeria took a rigorous action illegally by raiding three operators of the MULTI-POINT MICROWAVE DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM (MMDS) Operators in Port-Harcourt.
Simultaneously, CANTv, METROTv and CTL were all raided with transmission equipment forcefully dismantled and carted away alongside staffs on duty for the aforementioned stations.
