Days after announcing the capture of Victor Osimhen, Napoli have turned their attentions to another Nigerian golden boy.
According to lebombedivlad, I Partenopei manager, Genaro Gattuso is a big fan of the Villarreal winger, and has asked the club to make a move for him.
Chukwueze is one of Nigeria’s brightest talent and has already been linked with a move to several Premier League clubs.
However, the 21-year-old is friends with Victor Osimhen, and that could give Napoli the advantage in the race for his signature.
It still remains to be seen if Villarreal would be interested in selling one of their prized asset as he just signed a new deal with a release clause of 100m euros.
Samuel Chukwueze agreed a new contract with Villarreal last year with a release clause at €100m for the next two years, that will drop to €80m from the third year. Therefore it’s very unlikely that the reports linking him to Napoli are right, unless Villarreal need the money?
