Dear Mr. President,
XENOPHOBIC ATTACK OF NIGERIANS IN SOUTH AFRICA
It’s of great disheartenment and displeasure to write you this letter over the xenophobia attack of Nigerians in South Africa. To avoid digressing or blathering, I’ll just hit the nail on the head.
It is uncalled for and duly worrisome that South Africans has made their own country an abattoir for slaughtering your dear citizen (Nigerians) at their own pace.
With all due respect, Sir, the unremitting and unjustifiable killing of Nigerians in South Africa is becoming insufferable. It’s lucid to every nooks and cranny that South Africans are being prejudiced and xenophobic due to the inferiority complex from decades of apartheid.
It’s so lugubrious that the so-called, “Giant of Africa” citizens are slaughtered and burnt to death in South Africa and yet the government is not swift in action.
From research, in 2016, closely 118 Nigerians were killed in South Africa, from 2016 to date roughly 88 Nigerians has been killed in the country.
What did Nigerians do to deserve these inglorious and nefarious killings? Xenophobia is just indirect criminality which shouldn’t be treated with levity and mere diplomatic conversations or high-leveled diplomacy.
I respect your leadership style sir, but we have endured more than enough and it’s high time you took your stand and finds plausible lasting solutions. We cannot continue sacrificing our brothers and sisters as a disguise for criminal activities.
Mr. President Sir, We don’t want a friendly consensus with South Africans as we need to show our strengths, the lives and livelihood of our brothers in South Africa are threatened and as far as we Nigerians are concerned, we can never succumb nor kowtow to the South Africans.
Our Pride must be protected from degradation or dwindling. We have been phlegmatic enough for too many years. Now is the right time to stand against them gallantly.
The government should give immediate imprimatur for call off of all Nigerian denizens in South Africa before the situation escalates beyond pity to avoid apocalypse and holocaust of your people. In a democratic country, welfare and security of your citizen should be the priority.
Remember how swift you acted with Zainab Aliyu in Saudi Arabia, I commend you on that sir but that’s not enough. We need to show forth our full strength to curb the situations.
Basically, we aren’t yelling for actions that will escalate the problem rather we strategised how to protect our citizens first before further action. The lives of our brothers in Diaspora are most important here and require exigent attention.
Conclusively, We indulge and solicit African Union and your office to help with a thorough investigation into the killings to subdue the chaos all over.
Xenophobia is a deadly disease that needs to be halt. Why should we see our fellow Africans as an enemy rather than fellow compatriots?
We are one Africa. One Nation. Together We Live. Please, Let peace reign but if otherwise then we ready to take violence for violence which I guess is not the right thing to do.
Nigerians are to some extent not in any way pusillanimous. We are just trying to be a plenipotentiary for peace and I can vaunt that Nigerians are quip and at the same time obdurate in addressing a situation like this.
On behalf of Nigeria citizen especially the youths, we give the government 7 Days Ultimatum to treat this case. We also advise our brothers to please come back home.
As long as life remains then hope is certain, so you better come back home.
THANK YOU SIR
