Monday netted twice, while Babajide added a goal and an assist, helping Tenerife start the year in scintillating fashion.

Tenerife ended 2024 in disappointing form, with three losses and a draw in their final four matches. The team’s last win had come back in November.

It seemed like Tenerife’s poor run would continue when Henar Muiña handed Deportivo de la Coruna the lead in the 25th minute. The visitors held onto their slim advantage for the first 50 minutes, but Tenerife’s Nigerian duo soon took control.

Former Liverpool forward Rinsola Babajide made it 3-1, turning the match into a Nigerian show.

Polish midfielder Aleksandra Zaremba and Spanish-Moroccan youngster Sakina Ouzraoui Diki struck late to seal the rout. Babajide provided the assist for Ouzraoui’s goal in the 81st minute, capping a dominant display.
