In a country as big as Nigeria this could be another form of Xenophobic attack by South African enterprise Multi-Choice (DSTV) as they claim to have the exclusive right to air all football matches only themselves, while other Cable Network such as Metro Digital, CANTV, CTL cease displaying of any football matches content all over Nigeria.
In a recent finding by a team of investigative reporters from NO LIMIT MEDIA (A Port Harcourt based Media firm), it was understood that Multi-Choice Nigeria claims to be the only cable company outlet with full MONOPOLY to broadcast football matches all over Nigeria.
The Nigeria law allows any party interested to show live contents in a delayed mode. Where the parties cannot agree on the price, the court will determine the price to be paid. We have made this request to Multichoice and as usual they refused. We went to court as required by law to determine the price to pay to them.
While the court is deliberating on the issues, they went ahead and vandalized all the local cable companies in Port Harcourt. With the sole purpose of making sure no Nigerian company survives in this industry. They damaged and carted away FM radio and TV transmitters.
