Super Eagles striker Cyriel Dessers has stated that he feels good and confident ahead of Rangers’ UEFA Europa League game against Fenerbahce at the Ibrox Stadium on Thursday, 9JaUpDate247 reports.
Despite contributing ten goals and three assists in his last 13 games for Rangers, Dessers was a notable absentee in coach Eric Chelle’s squad for Nigeria’s upcoming World Cup Qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
The Franco-Malian tactician preferred Victor Osimhen, Victor Boniface, Sadiq Umar and Tolu Arokodare instead.

This could be a big let down for Dessers, especially as he is Nigeria’s second highest goalscorer in Europe this season.
But despite the disappointment, the 30-year-old striker is still in high spirits as he prepares for Rangers’ round of 16 clash against Fenerbahce in the Europa League.
“It’s important to stay level, don’t go down in the bad period, don’t let it get into your head in the good periods,” Dessers told Sky Sports Scotland.
“But at this point, I feel good, I feel confident, obviously in scored a few goals in the last games, but I want more.
“It’s good to be on 22 at this stage of the season, that’s a very good feeling, but I want more. Hopefully, I can help the team with more goals.”

Rangers have the advantage as they carry a 3-1 lead into the second leg at the Ibrox Stadium. Dessers nicked a goal and an assist in the first leg and he will look to do something similar in the second leg.
The Super Eagles must beat Rwanda and Zimbabwe for Chelle’s selection to be justified

Eric Chelle’s selection is one of the most balanced Super Eagles squad selections in a while. However, some of the players called up have big question marks.
If Nigeria does not beat Rwanda and Zimbabwe eventually and it is due to the presence or absence of any player he invited, the fans will surely come for his head.
Moreover, he has to make a strong statement with his first two games to ensure that Nigerians don’t lose faith in him.
For Dessers, he will look to continue improving and if he does that, he will eventually make the Super Eagles squad.
