Romelu Lukaku has hit out at Manchester United again, claiming he was “scapegoated” for last season’s failurs.
Lukaku has relaunched his career with Inter Milan and is still sore at how he feels he was blamed unfairly for everything that went wrong at United during the previous campaign.
United missed out on silverware for a second successive season – and the Champions League – trailing home a huge 32 points behind champions Manchester City .
Lukaku, 26, feels he has made a scapegoat and says his treatment by United is in contrast to the love he has felt at Inter since his £74million switch.
“Scapegoated, meaning ‘you are the reason’,” he said.
“This could be the team I need. There’s the love I have for this area. The love that I have for Inter. And it was the perfect moment for me to leave England. I didn’t want to be there anymore.”
