Despite Chelsea’s abysmal season to date the injury to key
player Eden Hazard, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has revealed he will not
be looking to spend money in the summer.
The Blues were defeated by fellow Blues Leicester City 2 – 1 thanks to goals from Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez.
Hazard was substituted with an injury after he was tackled
by Vardy. The Belgian appeared to be suffering from an hip injury after
falling on his wrong side.
Despite the injuries and the poor form of his team, Mourinho insists
he will not be signing anyone in the January transfer window.
He told Chelsea’s official website: “I don’t think it is right I go to the board and say these players are not good and we need to spend 50 or 100 or whatever.
“We have these players and it is with these players we have to
go, and the players that are not performing well must feel attacked in
their pride, in their self-esteem and they have to do everything to get
results in a humble way.”
The defeat leaves the Blues just one point above the relegation zone
in what has been an uneventful season for the club. Chelsea travel to
Sunderland in their next Premier League fixture.
