Four armed robbers who had been apprehended after a failed attempt to rob a woman, not too far from Fadeyi bus stop, Yaba, Lagos, has reportedly died in police custody
The suspects had been severely beaten within an inch of their lives, after a mob had quickly mobilised to stop them when their robbery attempt was noticed.
The Nation revals that the suspects, identified as – Ahmed Fatai, Rafiu Mogaji, Godwin Uzong and Bayo Kadiri, have died following their mobbing after their failed attempt to rob a woman, at the Onipanu Police Station.
They are reported to have died due to the injuries they sustained from bullet wounds and more, inflicted on them by the angry mob.
The suspects were later revealed to have, earlier in the day, robbed a woman, identified as Onchris, around the Illupeju area of Lagos, making away with N400, 000 and a mobile phone.
They had then gone on to Fadeyi to attack a Diamond Bank customer, identified as Joy Oroh, snatching her purse which contained N200,000.
News reports reveal that the suspects had shot Ms. Oroh on her thigh before snatching her purse, which is reported to have contained money to be spent on her siblings treatment admitted at the Infectious Disease Centre (IDH), Mainland Hospital, Yaba.
Unfortunately for the group of 4, they had also shot a motorcyclist who had immediately begun chasing them,
A mobile policeman on guard on Morocco Road, is reported to have opened fire on them, aiding their apprehension by other passer-by’s that had noticed the confusion, and joined in chasing them down.
Reports reveal that the rider had managed to escape with gun wounds, the remaining 4 were caught and deal a hot serving of jungle justice.
The graphic photos capturing the robbers has seen gone viral, as the robbers had been pictured covered in their own blood sustained from bottles and other sharp objects used to attack them.
Another source revealed to The Nation that the victims had bled to death, going on to add that their corpses have now been taken to Ikorodu at about 8:00pm on Tuesday, January 12.
